Christian Academy
is in its twentieth year as a California private school
specializing in independent study using the finest
individualized Christian curriculum materials available. Our
graduates continue to achieve success in college and careers!
WCA is accredited by the National Association of Private
Schools and is also listed as an approved Correspondence
School by the State of Nevada. WCA is currently in the
candidacy stage with CITA. K-12 Home Schooling
since 1983 with parent-supervised correspondence work using printed
work-texts, computer-delivered instruction, and online
teacher-supported computerized education. Semester
schedules are developed according to family's needs.

Teacher
Training
Committed to the success of your teaching effectiveness, WCES,
in partnership with Educational Service Providers
International, will hold 2-day regional training sessions each
summer under the direction of expert educators. You can expect
to gain expertise in implementing WCES’s diverse product
line, including implementation in the home school setting,
individualized and interactive learning centers, enrichment
labs and conventional classrooms. Plus, you will be sure to
gain knowledge about distance learning technology so your
school can really “make the world your classroom”.
Hands-on
training in the Switched-On Schoolhouse curriculum will ensure
that you will effectively utilize 21st century technology.
Additional instructional topics will include diagnostic
testing and placement, motivation, and curriculum
applications. For those teaching Kindergarten and First grade,
you will benefit from an in-depth training in the application
of practical tools, which will build a strong learning-to-read
program for your students.
Teacher Professional Growth & Development Seminars will
be web based for 25 schools at a time with several different

Achievement
Testing
Standardized achievement testing is a valuable tool
administered yearly to evaluate and compare your students’
academic mastery level against students of the same age or
grade level. WCES and its partner, Educational Service
Providers International, provide the McGraw-Hill TerraNova
testing materials and scoring service.
The TerraNova is in line with current
state and national standards for course content in public
schools and will meet state testing requirements. The reports
will be helpful in assessing instruction and in guiding
decisions about the way subjects should be taught in the
future.
